Reading for the Week

One of the Fruits of the Spirit is gentleness. God supervised the amazing activities of the subatomic and supergalactic levels and does so effortlessly. All the works inspired by God partake of that gentleness. For example, one works hard to accomplish God's will, and then steps back and allows the results to happen as if one hadn't done a thing. Efforts to further the Kingdom are not exhausting when they proceed from the inner resource of the Divine Indwelling. Although they may be vigorous in the extreme, inwardly there is no stress. The desire for success or control damages the good works of people who have not accessed this particular Fruit of the Spirit. They think mistakenly, that everything depends on them, including their own progress in the spiritual journey.
